| Good chapter, Big Mom is still being persistent. But onto the main thing... Katakuri is so strong, I do believe Luffy will come up with something in order to defeat him, maybe Gear 5th or Gear 4th but a different form of it. I'm curious how Oda will handle this fight. |

| watch out for incoming posts being a short summary of the chapter As for the chapter it's strange luffy's speed gear wasn't shown yet, it's almost like he's holding back. That gear also gives off steam which should melt the mochi as many expected. Katakuri might even have his own version of gear 5 by the looks of it. I expect this is all character development for luffy's fight against big mom. It's raining, the ship and big mom are out at sea, jinbei controls water with his fish man karate so can nami with her clima stick, i am not sure anymore who exactly is at disadvantage here. |

| Katakuri prove himself to be the strongest commander. I really can't see Luffy beating him for now but how will he escape from this fight. Also Pudding just keep getting more Tsundere every time i saw her. |

| Alot happened in this chapter. Katakuri is overwhelming Luffy, damn gotta think of a way to make rubber more efficient than Mochi. Wouldn't heat do the trick? It's good to see how far behind Luffy is to the Yonkou level cause we should get a power up pretty soon. A bit of Sanji and Pudding, info about Lola. Nami and Co crying for Pedro while Jinbei seemingly takes the role of vice captain in Zoro's absence. I liked the chapter alot |

| I see, so this is the lesson that push luffy to awakening his DF. I mean think about it First we see Dof use awakening and everything around him become what he uses. Now we see a very-pretty much same actually- similiar use of DF power as Luffy, only stronger. If luffy figure it out how to awakening his DF and use the surroundings like Dof itll be pretty much same level as Kata. If that happen, we'll recall what enel-also use some sort of "see the next move thing we didn't know those days"- said "Not like your punches number increase"...because you know, now he'll punches numbers actually increased. My question is however. When will this arc end? ODA-sensei obviously can't draw everything across his mind about chapters anymore but still draw the running prosess everytime. |

| Luffy really is no match for Katakuri at the moment, he needs to greatly improve his skill level because if he can't even handle a Yonkou underling, there's no way he'll be able to handle an actual Yonkou. I'm just curious to see how Luffy will overcome Katakuri's ability to basically create stronger versions of his moves. |

| Nothing much to say here, Katakuri is just simply superior in both techniques and experience. This is how the fight suppose to go from a logical standpoint, just hoping Oda can make Luffy's win not too far stretched from what he has been capable so far, or better yet escape |

| It's great to finally see a fight where Luffy is pushed to the limits of his physical abilities. Katakuri is an ideal matchup for an epic fight. Fighting panels and the ones where Big Mom went over the candy were pretty dope. |

| I expected Luffy to have the upper-hand, but no. He doesn't, which is great. Gear 4th was introduced not so long ago, and we already need a new power-up. What I find strange is that Luffy has this skill since the timeskip, but we only saw it during Dressrosa, because in previous arcs he literally didn't have the space to pull it off. So... Him getting a power-up now would be justified, somewhat. I wonder if it's going to be awakening, gear 5th, or something else. Otherwise he doesn't stand a chance at all. Although, at this point everything would be just an asspull, if he doesn't get healed beforehands. He was out of juice just by hitting Big Mom only once, and Sanji had to carry him, because he's been fighting a lot. About 10 minutes passed since then, and Luffy tries to go all out again. I don't want him to use a new technique, or be really strong without getting healed up by something first. |
| Luffy is fighting against a very tough opponent in a very bizarre battleground. Very clever, Oda-sensei! It really amazes me how Katakuri can emulate most of Luffy's attacks, but he could emulate them much better than how Luffy does it. Katakuri's own version of Elephant Gun truly overpowered Luffy while Katakuri remains all composed and calm throughout the entire battle. Katakuri is too strong, but I like it. I wonder how Luffy can even get out of this battle alive? Big Mom can follow the Thousand Sunny with Perospero still alive creating a candy sea slug as Big Mom's platform on the sea! Drats! |
| Carrot's crying face breaks my heart. T.T Good job Jinbei for rallying up the crew. Luffy is totally getting wrecked by Katakuri, he's still far out of an Yonkou's league. :( I'm definitely interested in how he's gonna fight against Katakuri though. |

| Can't wait for Katakuri to try Gear Fourth next lol. Really hope Luffy doesn't just win in standard Gear 4th, even if it is still a difficult fight. This really reminds me of the Mr 1 vs Zoro fight in which Zoro overcame his boundaries. Hopefully we see something from Luffy here in a similar fashion, even if it's something as simple as learning to use Gear 4th more efficiently. It'd be cool if he made a new Gear 4th form, though which took away a bit of fire power but increased speed and longevity. |
| I totally forgot about the rendezvous point. I wonder how popular Lola was back then? Katakuri's power being similar to Luffy is a nice mirror match. However, Katakuri is currently superior and can match Luffy's Gear 2nd and 3rd. Considering how difficult it was to defeat Cracker with Gear 4th even with Nami's assists, Luffy needs a new tactic to defeat him. But the fact that the Yonkous' generals are above the level of the Shichibukai is extreme. Vista, Jozu and Marco are definitively powerful, but are they even on the same level as Katakuri, Cracker, Smoothie and Jack? Ace was still relatively new, but could he a match against either of them? Don't think so. |
| I am really scared for luffy he seems to be at the end of the stick and I hate it. I hope too he will come up with another technique because this katakuri guy, seems to top every move even the elephant gun. I wonder how will Oda handle this fight too, it better not be dull |

"If only we were stronger" Those words really tell the true state of SH pirates in this chap. This is gonna be a hell of development starting now. Nami, Brook, Chopper can't do anything, Big Mom is still chasing them, Perospero's safe. It is like Pedro's died for "nothing". Feel bad for Carrot, but from her looks, looks like shit's going down soon. Luffy being owned by Katakuri is really satisfying. Finay he meet his natural enemy of his rubber fruit. This is gonna be a hella show, smell like Rob Lucci vs Luffy vibes. Still wonder how this arc will end, but to this point, this arc has been an amazing ride 👌 |

| It's logical that Katakuri's copy of Geard 3rd would be far superior. Luffy's Gear 3rd is filled with air, but Katakuri's mochi must be way heavier, plus the increase in mass makes puts way more weight into his attack than Luffy's. We know that Katakuri's strength lies in his Kenbunshoku Haki, to the point that he can basically predict the future. He is able to copy Luffy's moves because he can see how Luffy attacks will look like and how they work, thus he is able to replicate them in advance and make them better. Having such a high quality Kenbunshoku Haki must probably attained from intense training, so his senses and reaction time must be top-notch. We have seen Luffy fighting people with Kenbunshoku Haki before, but we never saw someone who could replicate Luffy's attacks because he knows how Luffy attacks will be like. It appears way more effective than just dodging or blocking. Katakuri must also trained his DF abilities a lot to become that effective. Cracker was already impressive with his incredibly hard biscuit soldiers which he can cover with his Busoshoku Haki. I wonder who actually trained Big Mom's children. She doesn't look like the type who would train her children personally. Her two eldest sons are incredibly realible. Katakuri being a competent strategist who is prepared for the worst outcomes and knows how to support the army with his flexible mind, and the elder brother Perospero whose candy abilities are shown to be more and more dangerous with each chapter, it would be foolish for Big Mom to kill them off at any point. While killing them would recreate their Devil Fruits like in Ace's case, it's still hard to replace them with newer children because it's clear that her best children trained a lot and have been through a lot to be that powerful, skilled and reliable. True, Cracker and Smoothie aren't that old compared, given that they are the 10th son and 14th daughter, but they are also very talented. While mochi is as edible as biscuit, mochi must be eaten very carefully or else they are stuck in your throat. So Luffy can't simply eat them like Cracker's wet biscuit. |

| This was a great chapter. Jinbei really shined as the seasoned veteran that he is, especially when you take into account that Brook is about twice his age. Perospero is pretty competent, to be expected of the first son and it looks like they might be teasing a Carrot vs Perospero fight in a future chapter, which seems pretty promising. I'm wondering how Pound will factor into things, he wouldn't be shown if it wasn't gonna lead to something but it'll probably be a while before then. That was a nice little info dump there about Pudding and Lola, though I'm still gonna need some time to get used to a girl acting weird around Sanji instead of vice verse. Wow, Katakuri really is something else. Since his debut he's been a workhorse and has easily been the MVP of the Big Mom Pirates for the last twenty of so chapters, if not the entire arc. Luffy's getting bodied real badly, Second and Third Gear weren't too effective against Doflamingo and Cracker but they're downright useless against Katakuri. I needed to check back and see what Katakuri did when Luffy vanished, this fight will be a cool one to see whenever it gets animated. The real fight will start when Luffy uses Fourth Gear but even with that he's going to have to pull all the stops just to survive let alone win. Win or lose this is just the type of fight Luffy needed to have with Kaido just around the corner. I can't wait for the next chapter. |

| Jinbei is but an exemplary character. To be the one who straightens the others to get back to their senses and hardens their resolution in every adversity and predicament. The type of personality that is absent in other members. A truly good addition to the crew. |

Besides, I hate random, implausible powerups, and it looks like Luffy should not have a chance in this fight. Would anyone else like to see this? The same here man I want luffy either defeated or escape to learn he has still a long way to go I trust oda because the powers in one piece is always realistic than other shonens any more power up would seem silly I really trust oda...he won't disappoint me the story now is exciting and I wonder how this arc is gonna end ??!! |
